Richard has worked in a number of areas in employment law, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, and redundancy. He has particular experience in race discrimination claims, and is interested in cases involving the health, social care and education sectors. He is often instructed by local authorities. His recent cases include defending a complex race discrimination claim involving a failure to obtain promotion and appearing on behalf of a local authority in the unfair dismissal claim of a teacher accused of hitting a pupil. He has appeared in the Court of Appeal on permission applications.
